We would like to invite you to join us at a celebratory event to mark the end of Abertay University’s InGAME International project. The event, From East to West: Cross-Cultural Games Innovation in China and Beyond will be hosted at Dundee Contemporary Arts on Thursday 14th September from 4pm – 9pm.
The event will feature several international experts in China and UK co-production discussing IP and copyright through a lens of game design, localisation considerations, and internationalisation. There will be a showcase from our three years of research, including a game produced in partnership with award-winning local co-development game studio Pocket Sized Hands. We are also excited to share our preliminary findings of our Pathway to Impact, informed by interviews with over 50 developers working in the UK and China.
After the talks, we will have a social hosted by HubWorld Scotland where there will be a showcase of video games made by students at Abertay with both UK and Chinese markets in mind, in partnership with international video games and media companies including Beano Studios and Outplay Entertainment. We will also have a number of Pocket Sized Hands games available to play.
This event aims to celebrate the successes of the project, share our learning with the local games industry and bring together developers interested in cross-cultural development of video games. We’d love for you to join us!
Tickets are free, but necessary for catering purposes. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
InGAME International is funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council.
