Reimagining Sustainable Mobility through design, gaming and new technology
Workshop Information: 26th July 10-4pm, V&A Dundee Auditorium, 1 Riverside Esplanade, Dundee DD1 4EZ
Project Overview
Mobility is at the core of modern civilisation, and the way people and goods move around impacts many aspects of life, with around one-quarter of global CO2 emissions coming from the transportation of people and goods (Scottish Government, 2022). With policy pressure toward ‘Net Zero’ rising in many countries, the evolution toward green and next-gen mobility is gaining further momentum and the years ahead will bring significant changes as electrification, shared mobility, vehicle connectivity and, eventually, autonomous vehicles, thus reshaping automotive markets around the world.
Using design as its engine, this feasibility study will explore ideas for the future of sustainable mobility through the lens of gaming technology. This collaborative project has been conceptualised through a regional partnership with input from InGAME an AHRC funded Creative Economies Cluster developed in partnership of Abertay and University of Dundee, Mitchelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) and V&A Dundee.
Through a make-a-thon workshop, we will generate new ideas for the future of our region and prototype an Imaginarium to showcase speculative design solutions for sustainable mobility.
